6.29.13: Working together

I am always amazed at the girls' (stella, daphne, fiona) ability to work as a team.  For their birthday, the girls got a construction toy where you can build a crazy path for some marbles.  While they started each building their own run, they quickly realized together (and with a little help from daddy) they could build an even bigger, more amazing path for their marbles.  Go Team Robertson!

Brant was having a great time too, even though it doesn't look like it - turns out he was less excited for the picture  :)

Sometimes adorable smiles warrant their own post:

6.15.13: Hello Tangled Ponies

This year we had a bowling party to celebrate the girls' fourth birthday. It was a great turn out, some new/old preschool families and even a few astronomer families.  We went to the party store and the girls each picked out their own plates, napkins, cups and one decoration; Fiona picked My Little Ponies, Daphne picked Hello Kitty, and Stella picked Tangled/Rapunzel.  We got them each a coordinating balloon and made sure each of the birthday girls were well represented.

Fiona, Stella and Daphne had never been bowling before, so they were very excited when they learned they'd also get to wear special shoes while bowling!

Having three lanes with ramps and bumpers was key to the successful party.  The kids could all carry a ball themselves to the ramp and bowl on their own.  In fact, each birthday girl got at least one spare.  All the kids took turns really well and everyone seemed happy.  We took a brief intermission about halfway through the party for some pizza and cupcakes (and of course to sing happy birthday three times) and then went back to bowling.

This summarizes the party well, so much stimulation - not even sure where to look = Success!

6.11.13: FOUR

HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY GIRLS!!!

You continue to amaze us.  In the past year you have learned to write your names, sleep in your own room, have in-depth conversations, started preschool, made your very own friends, played in the snow, met your cousin, used your imagination extensively, tell jokes, make up stories and songs, express your feelings, display creativity, become superheroes and so much more.  You are independent yet inclusive and always concerned about other people's feelings.  You take care of each other first and foremost and love being together.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful daughters and are thankful for our amazing family.  Your enthusiasm is contagious and reminds us to focus on what is really important. We look forward to each and every day with you.

love,
mama and daddy

The girls in their Sunbow summer school class.  It is SO hard to wait for everyone when there are cupcakes on the table.
Notice that every mini-cupcake has four dots in each color.  Inside the cupcakes, they are either blue, green or pink - important to represent for each birthday girl.

6.2.13: Tiny Dancers

Today the girls (Stella, Daphne, and Fiona) got an early birthday present from Nana....their first Tap/Ballet dance class.  They were so excited!

After class, Stella, Fiona and Daphne were showing us their newest tap dancing moves.  They are more than excited for their next class.  Personally, I'm not sure there is anything cuter than triplets in tap shoes!

5.27.13: Family reunited

We retuned home in the morning to some very happy little girls (Stella, Daphne, Fiona) complete with a dance performance.

After less than ten minutes, we were brought the newest books from the library to read (even though we knew Nana had already read them a dozen times), we gladly obliged and with that were back to our normal, wonderful, daily routine.

5.24.13: Adventures with Nana and Nene

The girls were SO excited to have some time with Nana and Nene and while I believe Nana and Nene were also excited, they were a little nervous about the level of energy from triplet preschoolers.  Nene and Nana did not disappoint they kept the girls very happy and busy.  Below are just some of their activities - as you can see complete with giant smiles.

Thank you Nene and Nana for keeping our little ladies safe and so very happy while we were gone!!!

5.24.13: Decadal Anniversary

(sunset cruise)

Today was a very special day for Brant and I.  We celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary and our 17th year together....which means we have spent half of our lives together.  Who would have thought when we went on our first date back in high school, after meeting in math class, that things could have turned out so magnificently?  So we knew we needed to celebrate.
(fancy dinner)

Early on after having kids, when we realized these two events would fall in the same year, we 'reserved' Nene and Nana to watch the girls so that we could go on a mini-vacation.  Everything aligned and Brant and I escaped to San Francisco for a long weekend.

(crazy tonga lounge)

We had a wonderful time doing anything we could think of that was challenging to do with kids.  We went to SFMOMA, 7-hour walking tour of the city, sunset cruise, waited in a long line at a restaurant (just because we could), fancy dinner, crazy tonga lounge, had uninterrupted conversations and so much more.  We greatly missed the girls as it was our first vacation since they were born (previously the longest we'd both been away was when I joined Brant for 30 hours to buy a house here) but managed to have a lots of fun together.

We already started thinking about another vacation for our 15th year anniversary...but we are planning to give Nana and Nene some time to recover before 'reserving' them again.

5.17.13: Celebrating birthdays

Today we celebrated my birthday with some ice cream cake.  It seems like Stella, Fiona and Daphne take after their mama and love ice cream cake with sprinkles too.

Somehow I missed posting a picture from Brant's birthday.  Fiona, Stella and Daphne were very excited to eat chocolate cake - especially since they helped make it!

Overall two very lucky parents with great birthday celebrations!

5.5.13: Role reversal

Today the girls had a hard time napping, so Brant brought them into our bed for a group nap.  When I came home from running errands, this is what I found...seems like the girls (Fiona, Stella and Daphne) got daddy to nap but forgot to do so themselves.
