7.28.11: Home Owners

(front to back: daphne, stella, fiona)

That's right, we are officially home owners!!! In lieu of the quintessential key hand off picture, we had our notary take a picture just after Brant and I signed our lives away. The girls were rather patient during the signing but were getting a little restless around picture time (and who can blame them). After mailing the documents back to escrow, we had to wait for everything to be finalized....and today....it is! We are home owners! Brant and I have waited a long time for this milestone and we are more than ready to settle down and give our girls a permanent home where they can grow up.

7.17.11: Triplet tested

(stella/red, fiona/flowers, daphne/green)

Our local big box retailer recently added some intriguing shopping carts. Upon first sight I thought to myself...those shopping carts are ridiculous, who would need such a thing? Then I realized that they are perfect for triplets! Perhaps the carts are intended for families with bigger kids who can't fit in the actual shopping cart or perhaps they are intended for larger families, but dare I dream to think they were intended for triplets? Okay, probably not - but we chose to embrace them. Our girls had a great time riding around the store all together and our shopping experience went rather smoothly. Definitely something we will test out again. Of course now the only challenge is finding one of these magic carts amongst the masses of a multi-floored store.

7.6.11: Family Day

Today was our third annual Family Day. July 6, 2009 was the day everyone was home from the hospital and we were finally all together healthy and happy. It will always be a very special day for our family.

6.27.11: Slides

(top to bottom: fiona, stella, daphne).

On the final day of the 3:3 kid to adult ratio, we adventured to new park and tackled an enclosed slide. The girls had a great time as proven by these adorable pictures Kelly took.

6.26.11: Wheeeeeee bumps

Our babysitters knew they would have to keep the girls very busy while Brant and I were gone (for the first time ever) for 30 hours house hunting. Kelly and Rob did a great job. The girls learned a new skill while on their nightly walks; when going over the bumps near an intersection they say 'wheeeee' and lift their arms in the air. Apparently they also demanded that Rob push the stroller and not Kelly. I'm not sure why, but sometimes you just don't argue with triplet two-year-olds, it just isn't worth it.

The girls even had craft time. Kelly thought that decorating these buckets would buy them 15 minutes of entertainment and apparently it went on for over 45 minutes. Who knew how fun it would be to sticker your bucket, arms, shirt, etc and then do it all over again on your sister's.

6.25.11: Walking around the zoo

(left to right: fiona, rob, kari, kelly, daphne, stella)

Thanks to Heather driving my sister, we were all able to go to the zoo together! Normally when we have guests we are limited to walking activities since we just have one car. The Kochmans were thrilled to get to leave the house this visit!

Due to the amount of adults, I didn't even end up pushing a stroller, I wasn't sure what to do with myself. The girls had a great time showing their Aunt and Uncle all of their favorite animals. We even decided to let them walk around the zoo a bit while holding hands or the stroller. They LOVED that freedom. I think our days with strollers are coming to an end pretty soon.

6.24.11: Bath time

We went on a house hunting trip (without the kids). Kelly and Rob (aka babysitters) happily participated in the bath time rituals before I left for the big 30 hour extravaganza. (Daphne/duck, Fiona/frog, Stella/ladybug)

6.20.11: Moving

It is official, we are moving to Arizona. Fiona, Daphne and Stella are rocking these fantastic shirts (thanks Nicole!) showing their new hometown pride.

6.19.11: Daddy day x3

(left to right: daphne, fiona, stella)

For Brant's third father's day the girls let their daddy sleep in a little bit in the morning. Well, actually they made sure to knock on the bedroom door as they walked by announcing that 'daddy's sleeping,' so I'm not sure if he actually slept longer or just relaxed in bed. Later we adventured to the botanic gardens where the girls experienced their first waterfall and walked around without a stroller. Attempting to get pictures with three two year olds is...challenging to say the least, but only because their curiosity keeps them moving all the time.

Earlier in the week, the girls made their daddy father's day pictures. I found their different artistic styles fascinating. Fiona used all the colors and lots of them all over her paper. Daphne wanted to color one spot over and over again with different colors. Stella only wanted to use one color (red - closest option to pink) and colored the whole page. They ended up creating some seriously magnificent father's day art for their wonderful daddy.

6.14.11: Gowns

(left to right: fiona, daphne, stella)

At our two year doctor visit today, the girls got to wear hospital gowns....or 'bear dresses' as they called them. The girls are healthy and growing really well, you would never know they were preemies. Fiona and Stella are still less than a pound apart while Daphne continues to increase her lead on both of them.

Fiona: 25lbs 3oz (30th percentile) - 33.7" (50th percentile)
Daphne: 28lbs 6oz (70th percentile) - 34.4" (70th percentile)
Stella: 24lbs 6oz (20th percentile) - 33.2" (35th percentile)
