9.29.13: Getting Air

We went to a birthday party at a trampoline park today.  I made Brant sign the waiver because I couldn't handle reading the terrible things that happen from trampolines.  Once I made it over that hurdle - we all had a great time.  90 minutes of jumping + pizza + cake = some very happy girls (Stella/pink pants, Fiona/black pants, Daphne purple/pants). 90 minutes with no injuries = one very happy mama.

On the way home a discussion in the car began about how everyone was unique and special.  Daphne was talking about how she was special because she was the tallest.  Fiona said she was special because she was the oldest.  Then Stella piped up, talking about how she was special because she was in my belly the longest.  She then started talking about how much fun she had in my belly all alone and how she stretched and danced and spun around.  I was laughing so hard - who knew those three minutes would be so memorable for her  :)

9.21.13: Feeding fish

While at an astronomy party, we discovered a fish pond.  Robin was so very patient with all of the kids and made sure everyone had ample opportunity to play with and feed the fish.  Fiona/blue, Stella/pink, Daphne/blue really enjoyed their time at the party.  They even convinced a giant dog to go swimming in a fountain who then decided to shake and cover all of the kids in water - which they loved.  Yes, it is still that hot - getting sprayed with water (even dirty dog water) is refreshing.

9.20.13: GLOW

We heard from multiple sources that the GLOW festival was kid friendly and worth the hour drive to experience.  So we decided to disregard bedtime and adventure out to the festival.  I'm not sure I would actually consider it a kid friendly activity - more aimed towards adults - but there were some highlights.
1. Bus Ride
2. Glow sticks
3. Spinning Fire
4. Light up hula hoop
5. Going potty in the bushes.
Regardless Daphne/purple, Stella/pink, and Fiona/blue have already requested we go again next year.  I have requested we don't repeat #5.

9.19.13: Dinosaur teeth

Daphne found these dinosaur teeth at school today and she was very excited to create a collection at home.  According to Daphne, they are from a Sauropod (and please don't mispronounce this name).  The girls have also begun digging in our front yard for the fossils they know are there.  I think they are nearing an Irrigationapod discovery soon.

9.15.13: Insects!!!

Today we adventured to the Insect Festival - it was a mad house.  So many people, I have no doubt that many insects didn't make it the entire day.  Due to the insanity, we picked a few insects to view/touch and then made our own.  (Stella/gray, Daphne/pink, Fiona/orange) weren't scared of the bugs at all.  Me, well, I just couldn't enjoy the cockroach cuddle area like some.

9.7.13: Superhero recital

Daphne, Stella and Fiona really enjoy dressing up like superheroes - especially when they also wear tutus.  Today these superheroes decided to have a dance recital on our 'stage'.

9.7.13: Ladybug Girl

Daphne, Fiona and Stella were so excited that Ladybug Girl came today.  It involved a trip to mama's work and some frozen yogurt.  Daphne was pretty hesitant to hug her but didn't want to miss out on the experience all together - notice she is actually hugging Fiona.

9.1.13: Racers

Daphne, Stella, and Fiona love to race around the cul-de-sac and we love watching them.

8.31.13: Dance class - take two

Fiona, Stella and Daphne began a second round of Tap/Ballet classes today.  This time even organized with a two song recital at the end.  I just love watching them learn to dance, especially when they teach me their new moves after class.

8.30.13: Stealing Daddy

Due to the holiday weekend, I was told to leave work in the early afternoon, who am I to argue?  So I set out to steal the girls from school and then steal Brant from work.  Upon arrival at school, the girls weren't so sure that they were ready to leave, they have become accustomed to their afternoon program (and I had not prepared them for an early departure).  After some discussions, we decided it was worth leaving school early so that we could go and steal Daddy from work.  They each made him a sign that said "We Stole Daddy" and then we were off (Fiona/top, Daphne/middle, Stella/bottom).  We broke into his building and ran up to his office.  After a few minutes of whiteboard coloring, we stole Brant from work and set out for our long weekend full of family time.
