5.23.11: Yum....toes

(left to right: daphne, fiona, stella)

We have been discouraging the sucking of fingers (especially since binkie degradation) so the girls decided to take up licking their toes...at least while playing. Even though everyone is not actively licking their toes in this picture, you can see several moist digits and corresponding smiling faces.

5.18.11: Riding Rocket

(left to right: stella, daphne, fiona)

I love watching the girls think outside of the box when playing with their toys. Today the girls all decided to ride 'Rocket' together. Did the toy designer intend to have the dog's nose and tail act as additional seats? Probably not, but the girls found a way to adapt this toy to accommodate triplets.

Oh yes, and we are finally done with binkies....well sort of. We have cut off the entire tip and have just one binky base in each bed. Of course, we occasionally catch Stella wearing the base of the binky as a ring and sucking on her finger, but we do still consider the process a success.

5.11.11: Twenty-three months old

(left to right: fiona, daphne, stella)

Almost two...or as the girls would say 'almo two'. I am continually impressed with the amount of talking that the girls do these days. Even riding in a car proves an opportunity for chatter, I can just see the phone bills now :)

The girls each adventured out for 1:1 time with mama, which they loved. They walked around Target like big girls without even holding hands with me. The other two girls went to the park and played with daddy, everyone seemed happy with the arrangement. Especially once they got over asking where their sister was...the empathy is adorable. I can't believe they will be two next month, where did the time go?

5.8.11: Luckiest Mama

To celebrate my second mother's day we went to the botanic gardens; it is truly one of my favorite places. We also went there last year for my first mother's day, so why not make a tradition out of it? Brant and I decided to be crazy and go stroller-free. The girls loved walking at their own pace, adventuring off the usual path and of course touching/smelling EVERY flower in the gardens. I swear I am the luckiest mama in the world. I love you girls!!!

5.6.11: Trikes!

We frequent the children's museum, but today was just a little different. We played in the outdoor area a bit, just enough to get wet...oh, and then...they RODE TRIKES! The girls have never jumped on these mobile creations before but were inspired by their friends. This is why play dates are good for all of us. Of course they didn't use the pedals, but did find forward momentum via their feet. Overall they had a great time and thankfully no lice resulted from the shared helmets - phew.

daphne/green, stella/white, fiona/purple - notice that fiona is distraught over her missing helmet.

5.4.11: Smelling flowers

(top to bottom: daphne, stella, fiona)

The girls LOVE flowers. They love to touch, smell and identify the color of the flowers that we walk by each night. I literally have to pull them away from the flowers and promise that we will find more on our walk or else...well, they get pretty upset. Thankfully we received the needed part for our triplet stroller so the girls were able to enjoy the flowers at the same time today...hence the adorable picture of everyone touching the flowers.

5.1.11: Garden house

(left to right: fiona, daphne and stella)

Today we adventured to the botanic gardens. The girls are finally old enough to enjoy the features of the children's garden (safely). They got soaking wet and loved every minute of it. If not for the adorable garden mini-house I'm not sure if they would have even stopped to eat some lunch.
